
Our cheese fries with feta and mozzarella are easy to make and delicious - the perfect snack.

- 175 g feta
- 125 g mozzarella
- 50 g wheat flour
- Salt and freshly ground pepper
- 1 tbsp. herbes de provence
- 1 egg
- 100 g coarse breadcrumbs
- 1 litre frying oil

Method

1Cut the feta and mozzarella into cubes of about 3 x 3 cm.

2Put the flour in a bowl and stir in the salt, pepper and herbes de provence.

3Beat the egg in another bowl and add the breadcrumbs to a third bowl.

4Dip the cheese cubes first in the flour, then in the egg and finally in the breadcrumbs.

5Heat the oil in a cast-iron pan. Test with a wooden skewer whether the oil is hot; when small bubbles appear around the skewer, the oil is ready.

6Deep-fry the cheese cubes until golden and crisp and drain on greaseproof paper.
Chef’s Note
If you like, stick small wooden sticks into the crispy cheese fries and serve them with plum jam and sparkling wine in a glass!
